Wes had a hard time narrowing his friend group down to only three groomsmen, so he added four ushers, and two greeters to the lineup. They were a hilarious group of guys!

 

The children had a difficult time coping with the photos. It was bright, they weren’t being held by their parents, and it was just a lot for them to take in. You’ll see later though that they did an AWESOME job getting down the aisle, so we consider it a win.

 

Courtney’s brother-in-law Braxton is the life of any party. He always has some creative posing ideas, and I always do whatever he wants because he amuses me.

Wes’ Grandpa Weber and Grandpa Gigl were both in the Army and served together in Korea. They were later reunited as friends when their children married each other! Isn’t that awesome?

Because the wedding party was pretty large, we were very rushed with photos before the ceremony. We luckily had a little extra time between the ceremony and reception. The guys were willing to hang out a little longer to get all the goofball photos they really wanted. (This photo is only one of a few things they really wanted to do.)

 

The couple went to the hotel bar to hide and hang out with their family and we actually got the reception hall to ourselves for photos for at least 30 minutes before the guests arrived. That NEVER happens for me! It was awesome!

When it came time for the Anniversary Dance I was shocked at how many couples were still on the floor when the DJ was calling out 50+ years!!

This couple, Wes’ grandparents, won the Anniversary Dance with 66 years of marriage. That’s easily one of the highest numbers I’ve ever heard in all my time as a wedding photographer.

When you pay twenty American dollars for something called “the dollar dance”, it entitles you to be able to pick up your sister-in-law.

I’m not clear how much money was exchanged for this to happen during the dollar dance, but Wes didn’t seem nearly as phased by this as his wife was. In her defense though, she was engulfed in a few more yards of fabric than Wes.

Courtney bought Wes two wedding gifts. The Chinese character cuff links you saw at the beginning… AND an inflatable T-Rex costume.  Wes and one of his cousins burst onto the scene to dance to YMCA with their big heads and tiny little arms.

Oh my goodness, what a day! A gorgeous church, a deeply meaningful ceremony, beautiful weather, fun loving people, amazing decorations, epic T-rex reception surprises… Wes and Courtney, thanks so much for letting me be a tiny part of all that. Cheers to many years of wedded happiness!
