Love in the time of Covid means that a lot of weddings are experiencing major upheaval, but Amber and Brandon were lucky. Everything they planned… went according to plan! They were already planning a small destination wedding with less than 50 guests, so their plans went off without a hitch. In fact, they experienced one of the nicest and smoothest wedding days that I’ve ever participated in. This Massachusetts couple gathered in Indiana with family from places like Kansas, Texas, and Illinois to get married in a location that’s very sentimental for Amber’s family.

The couple took almost all of their photos before the ceremony, then hosted a luncheon for their guests at the Old Train Depot in Pierceton. I was privileged to take photos for Amber’s family about a year ago in that same place for Amber’s Grandmother Edna’s 90th birthday. It was fun for me to see so many familiar faces.

Brandon and Amber plan to have a big reception near their home in September. Since I know they had a lot of friends that weren’t able to attend the ceremony celebration, I’m posting a LOT of photos today. Hopefully, those who were separated by distance can feel like they were there.

After Amber prepped at the hotel, she arranged to meet Brandon in a nearby park for their first look.

Amber and Brandon were supposed to each have one attendant, but the best man was unable to attend the wedding, so they officially had the smallest wedding party I’ve ever worked with. Lindsey was really patient through the photo process. Especially since she mostly had to hang out alone. She was a good sport about all the waiting.

Anderson did an awesome job on the flowers. The blueberry accents were really unique and you’ll see later that they tie into some of the desserts at the reception. Some of the darker red roses looked like velvet! They were gorgeous!!

The weather for the wedding was PERFECT! They couldn’t have asked for a nicer day. Warm, but not hot. Breezy, but not windy. Sun, but occasional clouds. It was absolutely ideal!

I don’t mean to tattle on Aunt Cindy, but she was a little distracted during the ceremony…

Lindsey’s husband had the task of live streaming the wedding for some of the people who weren’t able to attend.

Amber’s grandmother Edna is so sweet! She invited the entire group to come over to her farm after the reception to extend the celebration.

The twins really weren’t sure about this photo. I love how much personality shines through in this photo!

Amber made a point to visit with every guest at the reception. Even the littlest guests.

Instead of cake, Amber and Brandon opted for summery desserts. The colors of the berries perfectly coordinated with their wedding colors!

There was a lot of talk at the wedding about “the new normal” people were hesitant to hug. Many guests wore masks during the ceremony. I think this photo is what we call the “new hug”.

Toward the end of the reception, one of Amber’s young cousins discovered that his fork made a fun noise when he tapped it against his water glass. He really wasn’t intending to do anything other than make a cool noise. But, then I explained to him that if he did it loudly enough the couple might kiss. He was a little incredulous, but… now he knows!

Congratualtions Brandon and Amber on such an effortless and beautiful wedding celebration. It was an honor to document this day for you. I wish you many happy anniversaries! May they all be as effortless and joyful as your wedding was. Cheers!
