Jeremy and Alyssa are both Culver Academies Alumni. However, they didn’t attend at the same time. They met at a reunion. After thorough research, they learned they only have a single Culver friend in common. Alyssa, of course, used that one mutual acquaintance to make sure Jeremy was a good guy. Apparently he made the cut, because when he proposed to her on a bench on Culver campus, she gave him an enthusiastic yes.

After spending an evening with this couple, it was easy for me to see what Alyssa was saying yes to. She was agreeing to a sweet life of laughing and sharing inside jokes with her best friend. It was a no brainer. This couple has been dating long distance for a loooooong time and they’re both excited to soon be living on the same side of the country as Jeremy continues to serve our country with distinction as part of the United States Air Force.

I had a blast with this couple. They are HILARIOUS! They adore a good inside joke, but they’re also “includers”. Every time they told each other an inside joke they quickly turned to me to explain the context of the joke. I loved that!

Alyssa has amazing tightly curled hair. I love it!!

Alyssa has a habit of throwing her head back to laugh. Her deep belly laughs are contagious. I noticed that Jeremy has actually started to do the same. This photo of them leaning away from each other to laugh warms my heart.

Jeremy’s graduating class may or may not have donated toward the restoration of this gate. We’re not entirely sure…

When I complimented Alyssa on her complexion during the shoot she seemed surprised and confused. You’re all on my side, right? Her skin is freaking glowing!

We returned to the scene of the crime for part of the shoot. This is the bench where Jeremy proposed to Alyssa. I asked him if there was even a thought in his mind that she might say no and he laughed. No, he didn’t doubt for even a second that she would say yes. He knew he had it in the bag.

This photo might be my favorite from the entire shoot. I love the little electric blue peepers venturing out from the warmth of the hug to take a look at the still grey lake. So romantic!!

When you go to Culver, you don’t even bat an eye at things like cannons just sitting around.

Jeremy and Alyssa I can’t wait for your wedding day. I’d like to say thank you to you for choosing me to document your love story. Thank you sincerely, but also “thank you, thank you, thank you” in the way that will undoubtably make you both laugh, because… inside jokes forever!! I love being included.
