Recently, I was able to spend an evening with my sister and her new fiance, Levi. Marlise and Levi will be getting married in August in Arizona. Since they’re doing a destination wedding, they decided to do their engagement photos at the exact spot where Levi proposed. The evening was really beautiful and it was a fun opportunity to get a window into what my sister’s new life will be like. On a personal note, it was so fun to shoot for someone I know SO well. I already knew what Marlise likes and dislikes and what her style is. That made shooting easy for me to personalize. It reminded me of how important it is for me to get to know couples in advance. Familiarity and comfort give me the ability to create images that are more intimate and authentic.
