Craig and Megan, college sweethearts, were married on Sunday in a very intimate wedding in a converted industrial space in downtown Indianapolis. This was the first wedding I’ve shot at the Biltwell Event Center, and I was very impressed with both the event space and the helpful staff. From the second story, between the gorgeous exposed brick and string lights, the expansive windows boast a clear view of Lucas Oil Stadium. The winter wedding had small nods to the season, but with subtle style. This wedding was absolutely beautiful!

Like just about every wedding in 2020, this one was heavily affected by Covid. Due to the recent surge in cases in Indiana, guests were still sending their regrets in the week leading up to the ceremony, grandparents decided to watch online from afar, and the floorplan had to be reworked to separate guests and allow more space.

Megan’s family has gone through this unusual covid/wedding dance more than once this year, so they were prepared for how chaotic a Covid era wedding could be. Megan’s brother Josh married Kendra less than six months ago. Can you imagine being Megan’s parents this year? Their two children got married in the same year! So much change all at once!

During the ceremony, Craig and Megan’s officiating pastor used one word to describe this couple, and I feel like his apt description was perfect. He called them intentional. They are. They carefully chose a location that would make travel doable for as many of their friends and family as possible. They carefully planned what they wanted to say to each other at their first look. They were intentional about what they wanted to include in their ceremony. Thoughtfulness, care, and consideration are hallmarks of what this couple does both for each other and what they unite to do for others.
