To kick this post off, I’m going to quote from Jake & Morgan’s wedding site, because I love the way they chose to tell the story of how they met: “It all started with handstand push-ups… Morgan is not fantastic at accepting not being good at things, and Jake is fantastically patient. One private lesson, some aggressive “coming on” from Morgan, and a lot of facebook messaging later, our first date finally happened.”

Last Saturday, a couple of years after that first date, Jake and Morgan got married on a river that everyone insists on calling a lake. (Monticello, you have some explaining to do.) Their beautiful garden ceremony was attended by family and very close friends. Many of their guests traveled from across the country to be part of this celebration. Morgan made it clear to me that the most important part of the day for them was being with all of the people they love at the same time in the same place, and making sure that those people got to have a good time. It was a lovely day with absolutely perfect weather. I think that Jake & Morgan got exactly what they wanted: all of the people they love in the same place at the same time sharing a fun and intimate celebration of their love.
